Temecula/Murrieta Renters! – Here’s how to recover your deposit at the end of a lease! 💰

Quick Tips to Avoid Losing Your Security Deposit!💸😯

If you’re renting your home you most likely paid a security deposit when you signed your lease. The security deposit secures your performance under the lease – if you fail to perform your obligations under the lease the landlord may keep some or all of the security deposit. The landlord holds the deposit during the lease. Once you’ve moved out of the rental property your landlord will inspect the home and, assuming you haven’t damaged the property, should return your security deposit to you. Here are some items to take into consideration while renting in order to receive most, if not all of your deposit upon move-out. 👍🏼

Be sure to keep/restore the property to its original condition: 💯

– Patch any hole in the walls where you hung posters, pictures, etc.

– Keep walls and paint clean

– Take care of flooring (Carpet, Tile, Harwood/Laminate)

– Clean appliances (Refrigerator, Oven, Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher)

– Maintain landscape unless otherwise noted in lease agreement

– If pets are permitted be sure that they do not damage the property

– Fix any damages caused

– Clean the entire home and have all of your furniture moved out

– Don’t break the lease

Whether you live in a massive apartment complex, a home managed by a property management company, or a small duplex owned by the lady who lives upstairs, there are concrete steps that you can take to increase your likelihood of recovering part or all of your security deposit. Following these simple points will help give you the best opportunity at recovering your deposit and ease the move-out process for you as a whole. 😃💵
