Overview
Oceanside enjoys a long history of beach living at its finest with the security of being home to the nation's largest U.S. Marine installation, Camp Pendleton. Stretching peacefully from the shores of the Pacific Ocean to the west to the rolling hills of north San Diego County to the east, Oceanside is the second largest city in the county and enjoys a diverse population and rich cultural energy. Also home to Mission San Luis Rey, Oceanside has the added benefit of tourism to support the financial strength and goals of the City.

Transportation
Oceanside is located adjacent to the Pacific Ocean and can be reached via Interstate 5, State Highway 78 (SR 78) and State Highway 76 (SR 76). Major arterial streets include Oceanside Boulevard, Mission Avenue, College Avenue, Pacific Coast Highway, and El Camino Real. It boasts an Amtrak, Metrolink, Coaster and Sprinter rail station, and is a quick 20 minute drive from San Diego International Airport. Commuter air travel is also available at Palomar Airport in nearby Carlsbad.
