Overview
Founded by basque sheep farmers in the 19th century, Lake Elsinore is the oldest incorporated City in Riverside County. Named for the 3,000 acre natural lake at the center of the community, Lake Elsinore is surrounded by the Ortega Mountains and rolling foothills of southwest Riverside County, creating a picturesque landscape for those who call the community home. Outdoor recreational opportunities abound in this vibrant community, with internationally recognized sky diving and world class water skiing dominating the sports scene. Also home to the Lake Elsinore Storm, the San Diego Padres Class A farm team, Lake Elsinore has become known as Riverside County's sports paradise.
